Dear Mrs Eddy,–

We, the students of Christian Science under Mrs. Janet T. Colman and Mrs E. B. Fenn, would most earnestly and respectfully ask that you send us a minister to preach to us, and to those of this place who are interested in Christian Science.

We have held public service every Sabbath afternoon since last Easter, and the attendance has grown from sixteen persons to one hundred and fifty or more.

We feel very certain that with a minister here we can safely count upon from one hundred to two hundred persons as an average attendance. We can without doubt secure the old Methodist EpiscopalAs Written:M. E. church to hold our meetings in, as that denomination are now using their new edifice lately finished. We hold our meetings now in the Odd Fellow's Hall on the third floor.

We made a similar request of you last spring, and we understood through Mrs Fenn, that ours was the first request of the kind that you had received. Also, that you said you would send us a preacher just as soon as you could do so.

We hope and trust that that time is near at hand. In fact, that you have someone in mind already, whom you are thinking of sending to us.

We of course have met with a great deal of opposition but the ScienceEditorial Note: Christian Science has taken good deep root here and we cannot bear to stop our meetings.

While nearly all the students here have their homes in Beatrice, still very many of them are away weeks at a time practicing in neighboring towns. So the matter of having a speaker in the future seems quite uncertain if there is no one who will always be on this ground that we can depend upon for speaking.

Hoping that you are in position to grant our request and that we may hear from you soon upon this subject we remain

Very Sincerely Yours
In Life, Truth and Love.
