Louisa Scribner (1854-1928) was born in Wisconsin and died in Los
Angeles, California. She became interested in Christian Science while living in
Beatrice, Nebraska, and helped with the growth of the early Christian Science movement
in Beatrice. In the spring of 1887, she went to Boston and took Primary class with Mary
Baker Eddy at the Massachusetts Metaphysical College. She joined the Christian Scientist
Association on June 1, 1887, and joined The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in
Boston, Massachusetts, on September 30, 1893. In about 1900, she moved to Missouri to
work a farm alongside her husband, John I. Scribner, and later lived in various places
in the United States and Canada.
