I am writing to let you know that my sister & I are expecting to leave shortly for Scotland- We are deeply grateful for all the many valuable lessons we have learned in America & for the wonderful love & kindness which has been shown to us by the dear Boston ScientistsEditorial Note: Christian Scientists— but now Principle seems to be guiding us home again. We had a letter from Mrs. Cochrane telling us of their hope to open a Reading Room in EdinburghEditorial Note: Edinburgh, Scotland in October & suggesting that my sister & I should take care of the Room & work with her in Edinburgh- We shall be very willing & glad to do this, if Divine Love opens the way for us to leave home harmoniously & with our father's consent- At present we feel our first duty is to him & to the home circle - He says he is longing to have us at home againAs Written:againe & I know he has missed us much during our seven month's absence- Mrs. Cochrane said we should let you know that we are thinking of helping in the work in Edinburgh -
We came down here in June, at Miss Knapp's suggestion, to start Services & open a Reading Room - We know there will be others to carry on the work when we leave & even this short experience has been very helpful - We were so much interested to hear of your stay here many years ago, & have had the pleasure of studying a copy of the third edition of Science & HealthEditorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy given by you to one of the ministers here, now the property of one of the Scientists here.
Our stay in BostonEditorial Note: Boston, Massachusetts closed with the Communion Season – that wonderful Service on Sunday & the Tuesday meeting when we saw you & heard you speak to us- We do feel grateful indeed to Divine Love for all the blessings we have received–
