Daphne S. Knapp (1870-1919) was born in Lyman, New Hampshire, and died in Boston, Massachusetts. She was the eldest daughter of Ira O. Knapp and Flavia Stickney Knapp, who were students of Mary Baker Eddy's. She joined The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, in December 1892 and completed the Normal class with Mary Baker Eddy in November 1898. As a young woman she worked as a public school teacher in Lyman before moving to Boston with her parents and becoming a Christian Science practitioner listed in the directory of The Christian Science Journal.
