I feel somewhat intrusive at commencing a letter to a person whom I have never met and with whom I have really no business relation, but when thinking of the years of seclusion that you lived to work out a ScienceEditorial Note: Christian Science that was to benefit the world, being cured myself (of Neuralgia of the Womb) from a course of study and instead of taking up the scienceEditorial Note: Christian Science and doing good to others, I went on with my worldly vocation with only giving a few treatments (gratuitouslyAs Written:gratitously) hoping at some time to give up my life to the work & now I am prepared to follow it, but I find myself lacking in spirituality.- I have studied hard but cannot get back to where I have been before- my husband has studied the first two volumesEditorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy (with my assistance and has become almost well though a sufferer (in belief of course) from Dyspepsia for about ten years, but now he does not feel satisfied with his spiritual condition either: he consulted Mr Sherman Jr also Mrs Adams two of your students and neither party felt that they could help him as his health was not just perfect, but advised him to go on studying;

Now our financial circumstances will not permit us at present going to BostonEditorial Note: Boston, Massachusetts for further instruction and as he gave up work to practice MetaphysicsEditorial Note: Christian Science in Canada if he succeeded As Written: suceeded with his studies and now he must either go back to work (that being Conductor of a car) or proceed with MetaphysicsEditorial Note: Christian Science now do you think it would be right for him to go on not feeling satisfied with his spiritual condition and yet he has had some remarkable cures. Now you may think we are not living consistently in the causeEditorial Note: The cause of Christian Science., but we have both now and at all times lived to the best of our understanding. "what yet do we lack"Matt 19:16 ¶And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? Matt 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. Matt 19:18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Matt 19:19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Matt 19:20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet? Matt 19:21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
