Beloved Student.

I wrote to Lord Dunmore on the subject of lecturers telling him it was I that caused you to give up the invitation given from LondonEditorial Note: London, England and naming my reasons and my present hope that our best lecturer should speak to them in that large city. His letter to me of Sept. 22ndEditorial Note: This letter is not extant. assures me of his joy. You will hear from them soon. Here let me assure you and Mrs. Ewing that the sweet fragrance of your short visit to me fills my memory and gives me the hope of its renewal side by side at home or at the State FairEditorial Note: Mary Baker Eddy visited the Concord State Fair on September 6, 1900, accompanied by Septimus J. Hanna and Camilla A. Hanna. She visited the State Fair a second time on August 28, 1901, accompanied by William G. Ewing and Ruth B. Ewing.

Do not trouble yourself to explain how that natural reference to the Christian Scientists uniting in general prayers for our late President came into our SentinelEditorial Note: See “President McKinley” in the September 12, 1901, issue of the Christian Science Sentinel for reference to the shooting of President William McKinley at the Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo, New York. Although it initially seemed that the President would recover, he died on September 14. In any case it was no fault of thine but the Editors should have seen the probable danger. You have not known what they know. When next we meet I will tell you what I know about Garfield's similar history Give my dear love to Mrs. Ewing, your dear daughtersEditorial Note: Mary G. Ewing and Ruth R. Ewing., and your dear self

Ever as ever
