My Dear Teacher,

I wish to formally & sincerely thank you for the instruction I received in your classEditorial Note: John H. Veazey was a student in the Primary Class taught by Mary Baker Eddy that began on August 30, 1886., you have done me good & greatly increased my insight into the Scriptures-

I regret that the matter of the resolutions ended as it did, I suppose you know that the printer wanted D42.- that animal magnetism (or the devil) got hold of some of the students (two of them)Editorial Note: One of the two students referred to here was apparently H. C. Waddell. See 350.47.016 and 350.47.017. but as Dr. Gill will tell you I did what I could to save the thing from disgrace & have it published-

I have been treating a few friends for various beliefs, but little improvement manifested as yet. Perhaps I am of those of whom St. Paul spoke as having other gifts rather than that of healingI Cor 12:7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. I Cor 12:8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; I Cor 12:9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; I Cor 12:10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: I Cor 12:11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. -

Yours Sincerely-
J. H. Veazey-
