Editorial Note: Childs writes to tell Mary Baker Eddy that he is very impressed by the wonderful truths
contained her book, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, and by the courage it has taken for her to present these truths to the world, given
the present condition of society. He goes on to tell Eddy of a recent conversation
he had with a physician in which he shared ideas he has learned from his study of
Christian Science. The result is that the physician is interested in reading Science and Health, and Childs plans to obtain a copy of the two-volume set from Hosea E. Stone and give it to the physician. Childs ends his letter by saying that he would like
at some point to go to Boston and consult with Eddy for an hour about the future direction
of his life.
