Editorial Title: Edward A. Livermore to Mary Baker Eddy, May 19, 1883
Author: Edward A. Livermore
Recipient: Mary Baker Eddy
Date: May 19, 1883
Manuscript Description: Handwritten by E. A. Livermore on lined paper from South Londonderry, Vermont.
Editorial Note: Livermore writes to Mary Baker Eddy regarding C. A. Hescock's plans to purchase the Eddy family farm in Londonderry, Vermont. Hescock is unable to get the full funds to purchase the farm for another two months. The bank asked Livermore to be responsible for the funds not available to Hescock for two months, but Livermore refused to do it. Also, Warren Aldrich has been telling people that Eddy wrote to him three weeks ago and promised to sell the farm to him. Hescock has heard of this and is not happy about it. Livermore told Hescock that he can't imagine that it is true but that it could possibly be. Livermore has done the best he could for Eddy regarding Hescock. He closes by sharing his thoughts on selling the farm and mentions that he is enclosing $20 ($522.35 in 2016) towards last year's rent.
