I was greatly pained when learning that you came all the way from your far-offAs Written:far off home to receive no return for all that sweet fidelity. I am so driven by business that I do not keep the names of all my students — but Mr Frye has their names and when your name was announced and none of the circumstances were referred As Written: refered to I declined being called not knowing who it was, or anything that should cause me to see anyone without an appointment. This is my rule to appoint a time for the call, and this gives me more time for work.

But dear one, you will be fed by Him who marketh the falling sparrowMatt 10:29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. . Such fidelity to Christ brings its own reward, and if I could atone for my neglect by giving one week of my time I would gladly do it. The "message" was an appeal to my students to look over their minds and examine their desires and see what they are. I find the desires are not as consecrated as their words and works, that they need purging and purifying That selfishness weighs too much in the scale of action and this self-love must be rooted out or our CauseEditorial Note: The cause of Christian Science will drift into the wrong direction

To accomplish this I counseled As Written: couseled them to pray mentally for a great uplifting and spiritualization of their desires. This must be by daily prayer and watchfulness. It must be done by careful self-examination and separating the right from the wrong motives and being governed in our actions only by the purely unselfish motive

I know this growth in grace is what my students need at this present time to give them more power in healing and teaching. The time has come for them to wax stronger and more valiant As Written: valient in the Truth

Adieu May God seem very near thee Lovingly
