Dear Sir,

I thought you would pardon me for a line added to my late frequent letters I did not know just how the case stood when I wrote last My husband never tells what is said to him unless questioned directly he is so fearful always of doing wrong that I sometimes think he fails to do as much good as he otherwise would Let me own dear Mr. Atkinson that I have been so besieged for a whole year that my native self at times seems almost yielding and I almost fear the end my besiegers desire will come, unless I have an armistice

But one thing I am the same in, my intuitive sense of your character. I know the "evil eye" has been trying to change it, but still it remains unshaken amidst it all, and yourself and family stand foremost in my faith in the result, and that some students will endure to the end; "and the same shall be saved"Matt 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. I have learned now from my husband just how the matter rests and have more courage to endure and suffer, if such must be the case, until the victory is decided on the side of those who have acted uprightly -- decided in part, justice I cannot have from the age and a hearing is all I ask, if the enemy is allowed a hearing, but if you can stop his misrepresentations of Science that will do, and I will thank you from the depth of feeling.

Tis over a year since this infernal earthly agency has been at work on my health and the cause remained a mystery until of late; during that time heEditorial Note: Probably Daniel H. Spofford represented me as hiding from patients, etc, because of my own frailty -- and took them first into his hand, next my property, and all the time was like the subtle poisoner trying to kill me and thus cover the whole ground; during this time I had not lifted my hand against him, and his was a cold blooded plot, a malice aforethought - That I must suffer the beliefs, long since buried, because they are kept ever before me by his subtle whisperings, and he, before my eyes stealing my hard earned thoughts and trafficking As Written: traficing in them as his own, is a trial of no small magnitude. But enough. I want to visit you and want you all to become members of the Christian Scientists Association I will have our next meeting appointed in NewburyportEditorial Note: Benjamin F. Atkinson and his family lived in Newburyport, Massachusetts. if you and your family desire it, and I am able to attend
