This letter from Mrs. Perkins a Student of my last class was quite a surprise. to me- and I think needs a little explanation-
Mrs. P- is a very nice woman As Written: women in many ways, but very selfish and one of the hanging on kind. She and her husband have both had treatment enough to raise the dead- if they were no deader than ordinary dead folks- but they are, for they seem "dead in trespasses & sin"Eph 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Eph 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: - When Miss Osgood took Dr. Perkins's As Written: Perkin's case, he was out in ColoradoAs Written:Col. sick in bed- She got him so he could walk 4 miles per day in all sorts of weather- for whichAs Written:wh. she receivedAs Written:recd. the munificent sum of $10Editorial Note: $10.00 in 1886 is the equivalent of $311.34 in 2022., After a time finding Wickersham was right there, she advised him to transfer his case to him. He had to pay W- so he only treated with him a week I believe- I have no doubt he is as well as many men who attend to business & furthermore, I judge from the reputation he leaves behind him, there is a question of sin in his case- Mrs. P- is one of the kind who can do for herself when no one will do for her- I have treated her quite a while, and took her through a course of lessons, have never receivedAs Written:recd a cent from her not even for the bookEditorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy she has- I hope the booksEditorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy will come tomorrow for my Class begins Monday and I've no books for them-
