Christian Science Association,

I would like my name withdrawn from the Association, not because I am dissatisfied with the demands of Christian Science, as I understand them, but when one of the members, (Mr H. P. Bailey) comes here, & says, we are required to hunt up and answer all pieces, written against Christian Science" I told him I did not believe in that, and think it more Christian like to let such things alone. Then he said to me, "Do you know what Mrs Eddy would say to you"? "She would say, you are mesmerized." I have tried to forget this cutting remark, but cannotAs Written:can not, and have not felt like taking new patient since.

I don't As Written: dont like, nor believe, in the way I hear ScientistEditorial Note: Christian Scientists talk about mesmerism, Therefore think it best, to withdraw from the association, when I am not one with them in thought.

I esteem Mrs Eddy very much indeed. and shall always try and do as I understand her to mean, but cannotAs Written:can not take some of her Students' As Written: Students ideas, as, my ideas of right.

Please let me know what my dues, are and I will settle As Written: sittle them,
