Dear Madam,

‘Till this morning I thought I should be able to join the Class in Christian Science beginning this morning; but I not able to do so. Two weeks ago I had a small fibroid tumor removed from my forehead and should have been well over it in a few days, had I remained quiet: but trying to wear As Written: weare a hat too soon brought on suppurationAs Written:supuration. Hence I am compelled to keep quiet till it heals.

If I had met some one of our good ScientistsEditorial Note: Christian Scientists I should have been all right in a few days; but I was among those whose beliefs As Written: beleifs are stronger than a cart rope. Business matters (professional) will take me out of the State next week. I hope to be back to Boston in time to join the next class. A line addressed to me at #22 Central street will reach me till I return. Then I shall try to see you. With great respect, I am
