Again I write you as there seems As Written: seemes to have been a great misunderstanding with regard to my treatment; we supposing by Mrz AdamsEditorial Note: Possibly Mary M. W. Adams letter written to Mrz PackardEditorial Note: Possibly Mary A. Packard that you were treating me, But a second one said that it was herself that took my case instead of you, I think it was presuming a great deal on her part, as she is just learning the ScienceEditorial Note: Christian Science, and my case a bad one, and you did not even recommend As Written: recomend her to me as you did others. She wrote like this, That she took my case to you, but that you gave no treatments, but gave me the names of several scientistsEditorial Note: Christian Scientists, of ChicagoEditorial Note: Chicago, Illinois, But continues by saying that after a little consideration it was thought best to give me a treatment at once, and it was done, and would be continued until heard from, So supposing that it was yourself and having a great deal of hope in you I sent you a draft of one hundred dollarsEditorial Note: $100.00 in 1886 is the equivalent of $3,241.51 in 2023. one week ago last Friday but have heard nothing from it, Which I think very strange as I am in the habit of acknowledging the receipt of money at once. But as you were not the one that took the case I shall of course expect the money sent back at once to me. Do say that I was disappointed As Written: disapointed fails to express it. But the only thing for me to do is to "stand still and see the salvation of the Lord."Ex 14:13 ¶And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to-day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to-day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

Yours truly
