Dear Mrs Eddy.

When I [?] Unclear or illegible  came home I found a letter from a Mr Wishard. a gentleman who lives in the northern part of MissouriAs Written:Mo. Wishing to know when you had, another class et ceteraAs Written:&c. He has never taken the course – He has rather a strange history. A few years ago. he became very much interested in the Scriptures. reading nothing else for months – would not go to any Church. said he could not understand the Scriptures as they taught them. One day when he was out in the field. (he is a farmer) at work – his Son'sEditorial Note: Edward Wisherd had three sons: John A. Wisherd, Samuel O. Wisherd, and William Henry Wisherd.. (young men) heard him talking, standing perfectly still. They heard him say. "Lord what will Thou have me do,"Acts 9:1 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, Acts 9:2 And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem. Acts 9:3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: Acts 9:4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? Acts 9:5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. Acts 9:6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do. before they could get to him – he fell to the ground They took him home, & when he became conscious. he was nearly frantic- because he had not found out what- the Lord wanted him to, he said, it was not to preach, he knew that, but he could not tell what it was-

Since then he never has taken any medicine says there is a greater power than medicine – & if he meets with an accident – in belief he will go away aloneAs Written:a lone for a little while – & is healed – He had never heard of the ScienceEditorial Note: Christian Science & when I heard of him I sent him Science & HealthEditorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. & he was so delighted with them. Now he wants to come to you. & I am very anxious he should. for I think he will be a good healer. He is about fifty-fiveAs Written:fifty five I guess. maybeAs Written:may be a little older, I know what I have written is true for his daughter told me. I do hope you can take him in your next class. I will send him a Journal. & he will write to you.
