Having received great benefit both physically and mentally from one of your students, and having learned a little of what the science of metaphysicsEditorial Note: Christian Science teaches I am desirous of putting myselfAs Written:my self under your instruction.

I am engaged in teaching and shall not be at liberty till the first or middle of next March if I take all the work I have in view and even then shall not have accumulated a sufficient amount to pay the full tuition, but unless I can make some arrangements to attend next spring shall not be able to do so for a year on account of teaching.

I should be glad to carry the influence of a Christian Scientist into my next term of school but cannot for want of time to attend to it between this and the next.

I shall have a little more than one hundred dollarsEditorial Note: $100.00 in 1885 is the equivalent of $2,635.64 in 2019. at my command which I see is only half of what is charged for tuition It looks like a large sum to me for I have no one to depend upon for anything but a home, and earn money slowly, but if I can learn enough of your scienceEditorial Note: Christian Science to keep myself well of terrible humor in my hands and face I think I will be willing to work long and hard to pay you all in time, or I will work in your household if you keep house - any way I can do to satisfy you.

Please answer so that I can plan according to your decision.

Yours in anxious hope
