Nancy Stilson (1851-1926) was born in New Sharon, Maine, and died in an
unknown location. She was an educator who graduated from the Eastern State Normal
School, Castine, Maine, in 1880. She then taught in the public schools of Industry,
Augusta, and New Sharon, Maine. She was a student of Mary Baker Eddy's, taking Primary
class with her in March 1888 and joining The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in
Boston, Massachusetts, in June 1899. Stilson was also a Christian Science practitioner,
listed intermittently in the directory of
The Christian Science
Journal from 1902 until her passing.
