I addressed a TribuneEditorial Note: Chicago Tribune of Oct. 29 to you at the College last eve but left off the St. and number I trust you will receive it. That paper contained your last card to the publicEditorial Note: Page 8 of the October 29, 1884, issue of the Chicago Tribune contained a statement from Mary Baker Eddy that other schools claiming to teach Christian Science under the auspices of the Massachusetts Metaphysical College were false and that she had trained a small number of students to teach the rudiments Christian Science. A10179 is a draft version of her statement and it was also published in the November 1884 issue of The Christian Science Journal..

I send today one of Nov. 7. Containing the Oak Park faith cures some of them. (Page 5Editorial Note: Page 5 of the November 7, 1884, issue of the Chicago Tribune contained an article about faith cures taking place in Oak Park, Illinois..)

I know some of these people. They are intelligent sober minded people. The editorial in the “News” which I send is not well written but it shows that the public are thinking.

We have talked among ourselves and think it would be very interesting at our next meeting if you will tell us why these people (who are Christians of course) who have never studied the subject walk right out upon Gods promises as they say and are healed at once and we have to wait & wait & wait, and if we have a cure in 3 days it is wonderful for most of them (in cancer & many bad beliefsAs Written: beleifs ) are 3 or 6 weeks to say nothing of months. There are some as consecrated Christian Scientist here as ever lived. I can take you to those here who have been healed by faith two years and more and have stood every test. Therefore it is not excitement. I assure you its no idle matter but one that God fearing ScientistEditorial Note: Christian Scientist are exercised over and you have some dear children in this city. Those whom God has honored in years past and they are hearing the word “Let us press forward toward the mark for the prize of the high calling in Christ Jesus.”Phil 3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, Phil 3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Phil 3:15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

Numbers 6-24-27Num 6:24 The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: Num 6:25 The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: Num 6:26 The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. Num 6:27 And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them. .

A foolish woman (in this one act) has made me promise to ask you to give her a thought. She hasn’t a relative As Written: relitave in the world but is smart and full of ambition She had belief As Written: beleif of measles and could not read for years. her sight came back and 4 yrs ago a nervous shock left her worse than ever and at 35 wears glasses fitted for a woman 75 or 80 I have given her 12 treatments. She is a little better. I expect a cure. But I had to make this promise As Written: promis . With much love to you and all who are in Truth I am

Yours sincerely As Written: sincerly
