Editorial Note: Colby is replying to a letter (not extant) he has received from Mary Baker Eddy. He
tells her that he will not be able to attend her class in Christian Science that will
begin on August 20, 1883, but he is very interested in Christian Science. He wishes
he could master it and sometime in the future become one of Eddy's students. (There
is no evidence that Colby ever studied with Eddy.)
