My work is pressing upon me & increasing on my hands so much that I fear by my absence, a fatal check to religious interest would take place -
I have some brethren who after hearing an essay of mine on Christian ScienceAs Written:C.S., & having more zeal for error than love of truth are thinking that by killing me they will do God serviceJohn 16:2 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. , and any further steps on my part in the connection just now would especially excite opposition hence wisdom says let this blow over first -
After having been away 3 weeks on a vacation in July, only coming to this charge last May & having been called away necessarily parts of several other weeks I cannot see that prolonged absence would be right at present - I cannot err that good may comeRom 3:8 And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just. -
