To Today As Written: day as I have gradually at times been able to grasp some of the thoughts with which the book is crowded I have felt A feeling of Awe & reverenceAs Written:reverance come over me which nothing but divine As Written: devine truth could produce. That the books Science & HealthEditorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. will occupy A place in History second only to the Bible is to my mind A settled fact. That God is speaking through you not only to this age but to the ages down the future no candid mind who has anything like A realizing sense of truth can for one instant of time doubt. X Since my return I have been carefully turning over in my mind what you say about the great will of Mesmerism and have been asking myself the question Why cannot I as one of her students wake up to the magnitude of this great evil? & why is it that all of her students are inclined to question her wisdom in this particular? Now for my myself As Written: self I have an answer it is this. The Evil is too vast for A mind to grasp which has only had A short acquaintance with its great opposite the eternal truth – And I do believe as I come more & more to an understanding of the eternal verities which you have taught me I shall be able to realize its horrible opposite which often all is A gigantic nothing. – Now my dear friend don’t As Written: dont think you must answer this for I can love you Just as well if you don’t As Written: dont and I do not love to think of you as working day & night continuously. I am working with all my might to so arrange matters that I can by & by report to you. Why do you know my dear friend I have the feeling that to march to relieve you would make A man A Hero forever.
