I hereby certify that I was treated by Dr. Quimby in Portland, MaineAs Written:Me., in the summer of 1862. I was suffering with, as our family physician called Neuralgia in the head.

His mode of treating me was first putting bands on his wrists, immersing his hands in water, then manipulating my head, which gave me only temporal relief, and I continued using water for over two years.

My father offered Dr. Quimby one thousand dollarsEditorial Note: $1,000.00 in 1862 is the equivalent of $30,168.53 in 2023. to explain his method of treating, to which the doctor replied, "I cannot I do not understand it myself." I never knew of his ever attempting to teach anyone.

Mrs. E. A. Thompson.
Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Nota BeneAs Written:N. B.

I wish also to state that I met Mrs. Eddy at the Hotel in Dr. Quimby's room. And he was not a teacher then neither did use the same method in treating that Mrs. Eddy does Can prove he took the disease on himself which is entirely contrary to Christian Science
