Pitman Morgan (1808-1879) was born in Beverly, Massachusetts, and died in North Yarmouth, Maine. He was a farmer. He married Abigail D. Morgan (b. Dyer) in Gray, Maine, in 1840. They had six children, the oldest of whom was Emma A. Thompson (b. Morgan), who was a student of Mary Baker Eddy's, a member of The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, and a practitioner of Christian Science who was instrumental in the establishment of Christian Science in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
