Many, Many times each day I ask myself, do we students realize what is held out for our possession: that millions would tonight As Written: to night gladly part with all that they seemeth to have, and come and gather that which is imperishable, could they but know what was here.
Do we realize that we are moving to a position which while here, if we are faithful, brings us from the world probably nothing, but trials and rebuffs? but that in ages to come these meetings in the upper chamber, will have passed into history and that we will be blessed or cursed according to our fidelity in the preserving of Truth, until time shall be at an end. The harvest truly is plenteous, the laborers— alas how few.Matt 9:37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Matt 9:38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
I strive to feel the immensity of this work, the calling which we are taking up, and how essential it is that we be found worthy to advance this Coming. In my search for Truth during the past four years I have had to put up with "it is something you canno t understand" I have asked for bread but obtained it not: I feel that out of the abundance of soul the mouth will speak or if this Truth had been comprehended it would not have been hidden so long; although however much I regret I feel there is an Intelligence back of this, which in its own good time will reveal itself,
O. that I might be worthy; that I might have lived the life of righteousness to enable me to give to you, be it ever so little, of that living water which you must so desire to drinkJohn 4:5 Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. John 4:6 Now Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour. John 4:7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink. John 4:8 (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.) John 4:9 Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans. John 4:10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. John 4:11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water? John 4:12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle? John 4:13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: John 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. as the fruits of years of teaching; at times you must feel that you alone are left to serve God.
When the time comes you feel you should speak to the people I will procure the hall, and assume the expense, together with what printing you may think necessary.
