My Dear Teacher

I was very sorry to hear of the condition of the Journal - If I had as good a run of Business as I had in the Spring I could afford to be very generous with it - But it has been very dull with me this Summer. I feel that I have had a pretty severe scorching this Summer and for a few minutes at a time I have felt that I was not fit for this work and I might as well give it up - and then I would think it is the Truth and I will never give it up - everything will be all right sometime - I will be Patient and keep working. I am feeling much better now and I feel that my Business must improve soon. I think that ChemicalizationEditorial Note: “Chemicalization" is a term Mary Baker Eddy used to refer to a temporary stirring up of symptoms or process of “fermentation” as errors of various types are being destroyed. was an argument to me for me to stumble over - for I notice that my Patients do not trouble me now in that way- They do not seem to ChemicalizeEditorial Note: “Chemicalization" is a term Mary Baker Eddy used to refer to a temporary stirring up of symptoms or process of “fermentation” as errors of various types are being destroyed. at all since I wrote you about it, and I think that there was an argument that I would not write to you - I have been a good deal mixed at times (in belief) this Summer but there is one peculiarity about it that I have noticed after having a hard time, when I recover myself - I am clearer and have a better understanding than I had previous to it, and I hope that I shall be strong enough in my understanding soon to hold me - That seems to be the nature of the attacks now to darken and obscure my understanding and get me on the wrong scent - I would like to ask if one who is not up to you in ScienceEditorial Note: Christian Science or in advance of you can help you in these moral attacks? I have no Physical ones - I do not speak this way because I feel that I am advanced for these are times when I feel that there is no one but what is in advance of me -

I hope that Dr Avery will not prevail upon you to advance him beyond other members of his Class who has been in ScienceEditorial Note: Christian Science where he has been in medicine, it will certainly cause hard feelings in the C.S.A. hereEditorial Note: The Christian Scientist Association of Chicago was a branch of the C.S.A. in Boston, Massachusetts. - I have tried to think he is all right for I know that I have distrusted People wrongfully sometimes, but he is so suave and nice - He came into the C.S.A.Editorial Note: The Christian Scientist Association of Chicago was a branch of the C.S.A. in Boston, Massachusetts. the last meeting and he was so nice and suave that I think there must be an object in it - I have noticed it in that sort of People when they had anything in view - We are having trouble with Morrell now. I hope we shall have no occasion to have any trouble with any other member, It always seems best to me to look out for that sort of People who are so nice.
