As yesterday's As Written: yesterdays meeting was not the time nor place for a conversation with you in relation to what I fear if not checked will culminate adversely to Christian Science here in Lawrence I write you. I refer to the teaching of Bro Gill. I really do not know, what he is teaching, but do know it is not C. S.Editorial Note: Christian Science but something like this: That man has had various expressions, before this body, may have been a dog, monkey, or snake, those among others are the names as I am informed, that he has used, so he is evidently teaching evolution. I hear he has a class of ten. Among them are several of your students. Only one of Susies who is a very good young man. He is teaching I am informed exclusively from his bookEditorial Note: Philosophical Realism by William I. Gill and says it is destined to be the CornerstoneAs Written:Corner stone of Christian Science. I prefer the stone of which the prophetEditorial Note: Isaiah spake viz. "Behold I lay in Zion for a foundation a Stone a tride stone a precious Corner Stone a sure foundation"Isa 28:16 ¶Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste. . Now they who build upon any other, are climbing up some other wayJohn 10:1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. .

Please don't As Written: dont regard me as bringing any charge against Bro. Gill. I believe him a sincere man. He is evidently trying to teach both Spirit and matter, a thing we know he can't As Written: cant do. and hold his place in, Spiritual thought.

Susie & I think it would be wise for you to come to Lawrence, to our home and spend the night, when you could meet your students and Susie's As Written: Susies also, in an evening talk, which we believe would be conducive As Written: condusive of much good. Perhaps you will say I should go directly to him and try to show him his error.

I am afraid As Written: affraid it would stir up strifeProv 15:18 A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife. . everythingAs Written:evry thing is harmonious now. we want to keep it so.

If you find it convenient to come, please inform us the day and hour. But if you do not find it convenient to come, we shall try to hold the fort.

I regarded your remarks at our last Association as most timely and fitting. Your thought, and mine as touching this question, are in perfect accord, had you known just the state of things here, you could not have expressed yourself more wisely Susie says Mrs Eddy has brought the eternal Truth to me as taught in God's As Written: Gods word and her textbookAs Written:text bookEditorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. I know it is true I will strive to walk in it and will not accept any other textbookAs Written:text book. So say I.
