I have had an interview todayAs Written:to day with Rev Mr Gill a MethodistAs Written:methodist Clergyman of our CityEditorial Note: Lawrence, Massachusetts, of acknowledged As Written: acknouledged ability, who appears anxious to study Christian ScienceAs Written:C. S. with you. I said to him that you had offered to teach Clergyman free of charge. He is going to BostonEditorial Note: Boston, Massachusetts on MondayAs Written:monday the ninth instantAs Written:inst, possibly he may call on you. Mr Gill is a Christian gentleman and scholar. and as I remarked to him todayAs Written:to day he is just the man that is so much needed to proclaim the truth, as revealed through Christian Science, and I believe him to be just fearless enough to do it, when once he believes it to be the truth, he is a man of large individuality and courage, he will not be likely to shrink from following his convictions. He is of a logical turn of mind a very ready extemporaneous As Written: extemporanous speaker, and one of if not the strongest pulpit man in our CityEditorial Note: Lawrence, Massachusetts, he is quite advanced in his thought, more so than is favorably As Written: favourably received by theologians,

I hope you will be favorably As Written: favourably impressed with him We had an unpleasant meeting at our last association, I was entirely unprepared for anything of the kind. My dughter went there hoping As Written: hopeing to be lifted into a higher spiritual atmosphere, She has taught a class. and had a fearful experience with mesmerism. She herself, all her patient , the most of the class, and many individuals of their families were under beliefs As Written: beleifs much of the time, but Truth conquered as it always will, when rightly applied, some of the class are already doing very As Written: verry good work. I trust the trouble in our association will be adjusted; without bringing it again before our regular monthly meetings there are some of our number who go from a distance attended with a sacrifice As Written: sacrefice of time and money, hoping As Written: hopeing and expecting to receive a spiritual As Written: spiretual blessing if we fail we are disappointed. I see the great achievement is in understanding how to handle the serpentEx 4:2 And the Lord said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod. Ex 4:3 And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it. Ex 4:4 And the Lord said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand: , let us be as wise as he, and as harmless as dovesMatt 10:16 ¶Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. .
