Do you know I am so sorry that I did not stop longer with you while I was in BostonAs Written:B– that day I met you and Mr C–.

It did not come to me with the force it has since; my promise to Mrs Eddy, I mean. I cannot see even a little opening through which I am to get away from here. Now that I think of leaving I seem to be overwhelmed with work. and the only thing left for me to do is to drop it and come.

Yet there is much outside work to be finished, and if I do not attend to it who will? I have kept at my own students here, on the importance of working for the CauseEditorial Note: The cause of Christian Science., in a more general way, and they are awakening to the necessity. I can trust in God, that he will keep safely what we have done here; and if it is His will that I go to BostonAs Written:B– I know he will care for that which we leave.

I can assure you dear sister, that it is with a very poor estimate of my abilities that I should assume the responsibility our teacher asks me to; it is so different from what my education and experience has been. Have just received a letter from St PaulEditorial Note: Saint Paul, Minnesota which says. Mrs Hopkins and Plunkett are teaching at MinneapolisEditorial Note: Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Sincerely Yours
S. J Sawyer.
