Dear Madam

Will you be so kind as to send me a catalogue of your various Books and writings on the subject of "Christian or Mental Science" as taught by you- I have a great desire to know more of "Mental Healing" for I must confess that I am a convert to the "System or ScienceEditorial Note: Christian Science" as you term it being made So by cures effected As Written: affected here by one of your pupils Mrs ParkerEditorial Note: The only student of Mary Baker Eddy named Parker was Nellie H. Parker, who lived in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She took Eddy's Primary class in 1888, so she wouldn't have been one of Eddy's students at the time Burnett wrote his 1886 letter. However, she studied Christian Science with Eddy's student Edward H. Hammond in 1885, which may have led to Burnett calling her an Eddy student. and among person that I have known for years. So it would be but human nature to want to begin to investigate

Perhaps As Written: Prehaps a word of explanation might not be out of place here if you will pardon me for the length As Written: lenght of this note. After Mrs Parker finished her work here and returned to Boston Prof A. J. Swarts of ChicagoEditorial Note: Chicago, Illinois as he styles himself came here and got up a class and instructed them in the "Science" as he terms it and since the course is finished there is considerable talk of "Humbug" among some of his pupils When he first came he advertised himself as one of your pupils- But from remarks that he made in some of his public lectures and some notes in his MagazineEditorial Note: This is a reference to a monthly periodical published by A. J. Swarts titled The Mind Cure and Science of Life (later renamed Mental Science Magazine). of this month I find that he is at variance with your teaching somewhatAs Written:some what

Please pardon the presumption and liberty I take in addressing you but I know of no other source through which I could obtain a catalogue of your works and teachings

Yours most Respectfully As Written: Respectfuly
