Yours of the 10thEditorial Note: See L04021. just received, and of my great disappointment As Written: disapointment you can judge As Written: judg when you read this letter, a lady called on me recently, saying she was from JacksonEditorial Note: Jackson, Michigan had just finished the study of Christian Science that she was especially As Written: especcially prepared to teach, during the conversation she said she had looked in the dictionary and even Webster could not explain a chemicalEditorial Note: This is a reference to “chemicalization.” Chemicalization is a term Mary Baker Eddy used to refer to a temporary stirring up of symptoms or process of “fermentation” as errors of various types are being destroyed., I asked how her teacher explained immaculate As Written: emaculate conception she replied the subject was not mentioned, she asked me why I did not teach in answer I explained to her that I had been carefully instructed in Christian healing but was not prepared to teach and did not feel it was justice to Mrs Eddy or the student, she said if she was not prepared to teach she had been swindled out of her money, she is now teaching (a very small sum) But notwithstanding all this the ladies of Jackson have done much good work and I think they are sincere in thinking they are prepared to teach but you see how difficult my position is and can therefore understand my great disappointment As Written: disapointment in not being able to take the Normal Course this year - but will take the preparatory As Written: prepatory course unless somethingAs Written:some thing unusual occurs. I would like to know when the September class commences, I cannot board at the College - will stay with friends. I am very busy and most of my patients are As Written: a improving fast.
