Accession: 009.07.008
Editorial Title: John L. S. Roberts to Mary Baker Eddy, July 10, 1883
Author: John L. S. Roberts
Recipient: Mary Baker Eddy
Date: July 10, 1883
Manuscript Description: Handwritten by John L. S. Roberts on printed stationery of the Law Offices of Witmore, Jenner & Thompson, New York, New York.
Editorial Note: Roberts is replying to a letter (not extant) from Mary Baker Eddy dated July 9, 1883. He tells her that he will not be able to return to Boston before the end of the week, and even if he was there, he could do nothing to prevent Edward J. Arens from publishing a new book. But, they have made a strong case against Arens, and it is now up to him to disprove it. Arens' attorney will not be back in Boston until early September, and they cannot compel him to give testimony before then. Roberts asks that Eddy not be alarmed or annoyed by Arens. Eddy has truth and justice on her side and that will eventually prevail.
