Leonard Worcester (1836-?) was born in Oklahoma and died in an unknown location. He worked as a musical instrument dealer as well as a composer and was also a bookseller and stationer. Worcester was a veteran of the American Civil War, serving as Band Leader in the 5th Regiment, Ohio Cavalry of the Union Army. He married Mary R. Worcester (b. Spooner) in 1852 and they moved to Leadville, Colorado, around 1881. Worcester wrote to Mary Baker Eddy in 1886 to order a copy of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. Based on the records available, we have found no further information concerning his involvement with Christian Science.
