John Edward Woodhead (1840-1918) was born in Leeds, England, and died in Chicago, Illinois. He was married to Nellie N. Woodhead. The couple was associated with Elbert Hubbard, founder of the Roycroft artisan community in East Aurora, New York. Woodhead was the founder of the Cosmic Publishing Company, which published the periodical, Mind In Nature. He also served as manager of Mind In Nature from 1885-1887.
