William L. Wood (1812-1895) was born in Wilbraham, Massachusetts, and
died in Hartford, Connecticut. He was an affluent businessman and was the brother-in-law
of William Wallace Eaton, a United States senator (1875-1881) and representative
(1883-1885) from Connecticut. Although Wood expressed an interest in Christian Science,
there is no record of him studying with Mary Baker Eddy or uniting with the Church of
Christ (Scientist).
