John N. Wood (1845-1926) was born in Ohio and died in Sioux City, Iowa. He was a dry goods merchant whose wife, Anne E. Wood, received Christian Science treatment through prayer from Caroline D. Noyes and either Bradford Sherman or Roger Sherman. Wood wrote to Mary Baker Eddy in 1885, inquiring about attending the Massachusetts Metaphysical College, but there is no record of him studying with her.
