Caroline S. Wise (1829-1916) was born in Gerry, New York, and died in Freeport, Illinois. Her family moved to Freeport in 1845, and she married Alfred H. Wise, a businessman, in 1854. She was a member of the Baptist church of Freeport. Wise wrote to Mary Baker Eddy in 1886 to order a copy of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. Based on the records available, we have found no further information concerning her involvement with Christian Science.
