Mary E. Wilson (c.1858-?) was born in Michigan and died in an unknown location. She was the wife of Altus T. Wilson, a partner in Belden & Wilson, a Las Vegas, New Mexico, grocery store. In early 1886 Mary E. Wilson became interested in metaphysical healing and was thinking about studying with Clara Elizabeth Choate, a student of Mary Baker Eddy's who had been expelled from the Christian Scientist Association. Instead, despite the protestations of her husband, she decided to study with Mary Baker Eddy, studying with her in August 1886 and joining the Christian Scientist Association shortly afterwards.
