Phila M. White (b. Brown) (1823-1900) lived in Brattleboro, Vermont. In 1848, she married Patrick S. White. The couple had no children of their own, but adopted two of their nieces. Her husband was a carpenter. He worked making organs at the Riley & Burdette factory and then the Estey Organ company. He later returned to construction work as a bricklayer and plasterer. In 1886, White wrote to Mary Baker Eddy to order a pamphlet.
