Gustavus F. Walker (1843-1915) was born in Hodgdon, Maine, and died in
Boston, Massachusetts. He was a Civil War veteran, who, after the war, studied medicine
at Boston University and Vermont Medical College, Rutland, Vermont. After completing his
studies, he set up a homeopathic practice at 548 Tremont Street in the South End
neighborhood of Boston. There is no record of Walker studying with Mary Baker Eddy or
uniting with the Church of Christ (Scientist).
