Lucretia A. "Annie" Veazey (1856-1931) was born and died in St. Stephen,
New Brunswick, Canada. She grew up as a member of the Methodist church and was the
sister of Christian Scientists Mary Flora Veazey and John H. Veazey, who was a student
of Mary Baker Eddy. After studying Christian Science with Julia S. Bartlett in August
1886, Veazey became one of the first practitioners in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. She
took the Primary Class with Mary Baker Eddy in February 1889 and joined the Christian
Scientist Association that March. Veazey joined The First Church of Christ, Scientist,
in Boston, Massachusetts, in September 1893, and in 1900, attended an Obstetrics class
in the Board of Education of The First Church of Christ, Scientist. She was listed as a
practitioner and teacher in
The Christian Science Journal from
1896 until her death, sometimes in St. Stephen and at other times in Calais, Maine,
where she served as First Reader at the local branch church.
