Wealthy M. Torrey (b. Campbell) (1833-1901) was born in Ohio. In 1854, she married Theodore W. Torrey, who was a bookkeeper for the army and then a bank teller. By 1860 they were living in St. Louis, Missouri. Torrey wrote to Mary Baker Eddy from St. Louis in 1886, to order a copy of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures and ask for a recommendation of a local Christian Science healer.
