Elizabeth R. Tinkham (b. Sellers) (c. 1814-?) was born in Ohio and died
in an unknown location. In 1835 she married Joseph Tinkham, a farmer, in Delaware, Ohio.
They subsequently moved to Columbia City, Indiana, and then to Troy, Indiana. After her
husband's passing in 1861, Tinkham went to live with her daughter's family in Danville,
Illinois, where she became acquainted with others interested in Christian Science and
read
Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. In June
1886 Tinkham wrote to Mary Baker Eddy expressing interest in receiving instruction in
Christian Science from her, but there is no record of her doing so.
