Wendell E. Thrall (1868-1940) was born in Decatur, Illinois, and died in Queens, New York. By 1880 he had moved to Alexander, Illinois, by 1892 to Rochester, New York, and by 1900 to Buffalo, New York, where he worked as a traveling salesman. He married Charlotte "Lottie" B. Thrall (b. Steele), a clerk, in Buffalo in 1901. Thrall continued living in Buffalo until at least 1925 and went into business as a pharmacist. Sometime after his wife's death in 1934, he moved to Queens. In 1886 Thrall wrote to order a copy of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. His sister Julia A. Thrall wrote to Mary Baker Eddy in 1887 saying she had been introduced to Christian Science by Sarah A. Pine, a student of Eddy's in Rochester. Julia joined The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, on January 4, 1896.
