James A. Thomas (c. 1856-1927) was born in Linesville, Pennsylvania, and
died in Edmore, Michigan. He was a photographer and a general store merchant. He married
Minnie B. Thomas (b. Dunham), a teacher, in Lakeview, Michigan, in 1891. She died in
1913, and he married Julia R. Thomas (b. Gibbs) in West Millbrook, Michigan, in 1916.
They divorced in 1924. In 1886 Thomas wrote to Mary Baker Eddy stating that he had been
studying Christian Science and inquiring about buying
