Betsey J. Swett (1835-1915) was born in Dracut, Massachusetts, and died in Lowell, Massachusetts. She married Edmund Swett, a carpenter, in Nashua, New Hampshire, in 1865. Swett was a student of Mary Baker Eddy's, completing the Primary class in April 1885. She was listed as a member of the Christian Scientist Association and was endorsed by Mary Baker Eddy for membership in the National Christian Scientist Association in 1887. She was listed in the directory of The Christian Science Journal as a Christian Science practitioner in 1886 and 1887. Swett withdrew from the Christian Scientist Association in 1888 over the Association's response to the Abby Corner court case.
