Nancy S. Swartwout (1829-1912) was born in Port Byron, New York, and died
in Evanston, Illinois. She, along with her husband, Thomas, became interested in
Christian Science in the early 1880s and she received Christian Science treatment
through prayer from Bradford Sherman, a student of Mary Baker Eddy's. There is no record
of her studying with Eddy or uniting with the Church of Christ (Scientist).
