Solomon W. Straub (1842-1899) was born in Indiana and died in Chicago,
Illinois. He was a composer of religious and secular music who founded the publisher
S.W. Straub & Co. In addition to writing music, he was editor and publisher of
Song Friend, a musical journal. In the summer of 1884 he
wrote to Mary Baker Eddy, asking for information on the wholesale price of
Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.
