John A. Stevens (c.1847-1886) was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and died in Boston, Massachusetts. He was married to Mary L. G. Stevens and worked as a bookkeeper and in a dry goods firm. Stevens wrote to Mary Baker Eddy in 1886 that he was being treated by Josephine Tyter and that he and his wife would like to study Christian Science.
