Anna M. Steinmann (1857-1901), later Anna M. Gildersleeve, was born in Germany and died in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She became interested in Christian Science in 1884 and studied jointly with Ellen Brown Linscott and Edward H. Hammond. Steinmann had intended to take the Normal class at the Massachusetts Metaphysical College, but she could not afford the tuition.
